Books or Boobs?

I wasn't thinking of Sheyla Hershey, who has the world's largest breasts,  when I wrote the headline, but a picture of her boobs is more interesting than one of O'Reilly the boob.

When was the last time you read a book instead of watching the boobs on Fox News?  According to bestselling author Tess Geritsen, a fiction book can reach the bestseller list with as few as 5,000 copies sold in a week.  In contrast, a boob like O'Reilly has an audience of more than 1.3 million for his 11:00 pm show--and of more than 3 million for his 8:00 pm show.  According to Mark Joyella of Mediaite.com, O'Reilly and Hannity combined have more than 5 million viewers.

America is a dumbed-down country.  It is not just that no one reads books. It is also that millions obtain information from ignorant opportunists like O'Reilly and Hannity.  No wonder Republicans vote for goofballs like Rick Sanitarium and Speaker Newt Moonbeam.

One cannot express ideas coherently in a television program.  This explains Americans' voting choices. They do not vote coherently; indeed, they vote against their own interests by insisting on candidates who support the Federal Reserve Bank and failed government programs.  There is no debate permitted on the television networks and talk radio shows because they are run by the Council on Foreign Relations-linked economic interests who benefit, at public expense, from bailouts and paper money subsidies.
